As we continue to grow, we are happy to share that we are now working directly with the Syracuse City School District to support the mental health needs of the diverse student population and their families. In this new role you will be asked to do the following:Provide direct patient care to children, adolescents, and families in the Syracuse City School DistrictProvide comprehensive care through assessment, psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups, and referral to outside servicesAssess the clinical needs of students, recommend, and coordination of care with school and outside providersAct as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and traineesMinimum Qualifications:To be successful in this role the Psychologist is required to have the following:Ph.D. or Psy.D. and NYS license (or eligible) PsychologistIf currently unlicensed, a limited permit is requiredLicense must be received within 1 year of employmentPreferred Qualifications:In addition to the requirements there are preferred qualities that will be helpful toward success:5 or more years of school based mental health with no less than 4 doing psychological assessmentExperience in conducting comprehensive psychological assessment, including neurodevelopment, with school-based population, including BIPOC children and adolescenceConsulting with school about students who are presenting with severe mental concernsDemonstrated experience in working from a trauma-informed treatment modality and trauma resolution and resiliency building practices as well as strength-based treatment for children and familiesExperience in exploring how racism, trauma, and social factors impact mental health and how to use resources and skills to promote healing and resilienceExperience in building community resiliency program including training other providersDemonstrated experience in providing direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups along with a strong ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments and formulate treatment plansFamiliarity with community resources, effective referral processes, and follow-up care with a deep understanding of child and adolescent development and the social-emotional challenges school-aged children faceCultural competence is essential, ensuring the ability to engage with and support diverse populations sensitivelyPossess expertise in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques to address emergencies and challenging situations effectivelyWork Days:Monday-Friday Day HoursMessage to Applicants:In return for your dedication and commitment to provide outstanding care youll receive:A salary on a pay scale that starts near $110,000 and up to $135,000, depending on your experiencea generous Paid Time Off program that includes vacation, holidays, and sick daysa choice of several outstanding health insurance benefitsavailable well-being plans that include Adoption Assistance, Student Loan Relief Services, Tuition Reimbursement, and an Employee Assistance ProgramA New York State Pension, a 403b plan with matching, and other retirement savings plansRecruitment Office: Human ResourcesExecutive Order:Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
